The wife of a friend was nine months pregnant, and I had an idea – based on time-lapse photography – to photograph them together, on the same day every year, forever. I planned the shoots in a formal, almost scientific way. Every year, at the same time, against the same backdrop, under the same lighting. Here is what it looks when you send a GoPro Camera to the Stratosphere. On December 8th, 2013, a 1200g weather balloon were launched into the Stratosphere from France. The box was loaded with cameras, batteries and sensors. It reached an altitude as high as 23.4km and went through temperatures as low as -32°C.
