“I’m not a prophet or a stone aged man, just a mortal with potential of a superman. I’m living on”
– David Bowie
On January 10, David Bowie died after an 18-month battle with cancer. Just a few days after his 69th birthday and the release of his 25th album, Blackstar. His back catalogue spanning half a century. Still there’s much he taught us about creativity and longevity. For example Believe In Yourself, Think Outside The Box…
Adam Buxton on David Bowie (Radio Show on BBC6 Radio)
“In a special show Adam Buxton take us on a journey through the weird and wonderful world of one of the UK’s most colourful pop stars. Featuring rare interviews, some unheard for over 30 years, Adam hand-picks some classic BBC Bowie moments, capturing the alternative spirit of Bowie’s ever-changing persona”.
To tribute David Bowie, it is impossible to select just one song. I found in the archive a rare TV Special from 1973: “The 1980 Floor Show”. It was the last performance from Bowie as “Ziggy Stardust”. The Show was recorded for the American TV Market on three nights at Marquee Club in London in 1973. “I Got You Babe” is performed by Marianne Faithfull in a nun’s habit and David Bowie in a feather boa. And you will meet still Amanda Lear. How good is this Special.
Thank you very much Mr. Jones.
